Rice

Posted By Snow at 4/08/2010

From top, left to right: Nasi tomato, nasi pattaya with egg wrap, nasi paprik, nasi lemak,
nasi kerabu, nasi ayam, nasi dagang, nasi impit with satay, nasi impit with soto

Thanks to all in the agriculture & food industry, grains of rice from the paddy field becomes a variety of sumptuous dishes! Oh yeah, rice is the staple food here in Malaysia. Spice it this way, that way ... For nasi paprik, it has a lemongrass flavor. Nasi lemak is cooked with coconut milk. Nasi kerabu is mixed with fresh herbs. I like the raisins in biryani.

BTW if I'm not mistaken, even the rice grains itself has a variety - e.g:. basmati, jasmine etc. Allah SWT revealed in the Quran "... watered with the same water, yet some of them We make more excellent than others to eat..." [Q13:4] So true! ماشاء الله

And so I eat & very grateful for it.[Q80:24-32] الحمد لله Just wanna say isn't it amazing how the dishes comes from the work & dealings of many people. Human work best in teams! [Q 4:29-30, 43:32] ماشاء الله

A lady working at the paddy field, TQ for braving the leeches!
& Syed Mokhtar Al Bukhary started as a rice trader [Forbes]

بسم الله الرحمن الرحيم

Allah extends provision for whom He wills and restricts [it]. And they rejoice in the worldly life, while the worldly life is not, compared to the Hereafter, except [brief] enjoyment. [Quran 13:26]

Look how We have favored [in provision] some of them over others. But the Hereafter is greater in degrees [of difference] and greater in distinction. [Quran 17:21]

And He it is Who has made you successors in the land and raised some of you above others by (various) grades, that He might try you by what He has given you; surely your Lord is quick to requite (evil), and He is most surely the Forgiving, the Merciful. [Quran 6:165]

Peace be upon you
