OK so these ladies are in the East — Najd, Oman, UAE, Qatar, Bahrain, Kuwait, Iraq. In the early millennium, the Gulf were under the Persian Empire. Then from Hejaz, Muslim Arabs reached the region, and they embraced Islam.

Where as in the West — Egypt, Palestine, Jordan, Lebanon, Syria — they were under the Roman Empire. During this Hellenistic Era, the language there was Greek e.g. the New Testament is in Greek. There are also Hebrew and Aramaic, which is similar to Arabic. Then from Hejaz, Muslim Arabs reached the region, and they embraced Islam. And now, they're known as Arabs.
