Hot Colors

The blue flame is the hottest

Happy 200th birthday Robert Bunsen! I know Bunsen coz I have used a Bunsen burner. So I checked him out. & apparently Bunsen researched the emission spectra of heated elements. Is it about the colors of heat? Like how yellow flame is cooler, and blue flame is hotter.

I think that's how they determine how hot a star is. Simply by its color. A yellow star - like the sun - is less hot (5,200–6,000 K) compared to the blue star (≥ 33,000 K). [wiki]

Yes, the "water" is the fire [SB9.88.244]

Anyway, I have yet to work out how the color changes by temperature. OK... Is it at the atomic level [Q34:3] - when stuffs get heated, the thermal vibration emits photon (light)? And so the heat glows. The light bulb is an example - a metal filament wire is heated until it glows.

Then we can run that light through a prism, & analyze its color spectrum. [spectral analysis] This is how we know what a star is made of bcoz chemical elements emit certain lines in the spectrum. We can also discover its temperature, speed, distance and age.

Spectrum of hydrogen, helium, lithium, oxygen, carbon and iron

OK... so I'm not very versed in this. Let the video talk. (^v^)v

I seek refuge in Allah SWT from errors. والله أعلم

اعوذب لله من الشيطان الرجيم

Allah is the Light of the heavens and the earth. The example of His light is like a niche within which is a lamp, the lamp is within glass, the glass as if it were a pearly (white) star lit from (the oil of) a blessed olive tree, neither of the east nor of the west, whose oil would almost glow even if untouched by fire.

Light upon light.

Allah guides to His light whom He wills. And Allah presents examples for the people, and Allah is Knowing of all things.

[Quran 24:35]

If only I understand the full meaning of this holy Quran verse. سبحان الله

I read olive oil is a renewable fuel and safer to burn because of its low volatility. It is odorless, with less fumes & soot. The ancients use olive oil lamps, and I remember such oil lamps.

Only, I'm trying to imagine the "light upon light". And figuring how special olive truly is. (^-^)

& Spain too.

"It consists mainly of 2,650 huge and highly reflective mirrors - heliostats - arranged around a 140m central tower.

These reflectors direct the sun's rays to a 'receiver' at the top of the tower. Molten salt is pumped from one storage tank up to the receiver, where it is heated by the rays, and then lowered into a second storage tank. The energy from the hot salt is used to power a traditional steam turbine, which generates electricity."

Welcome
Peace be upon you
