I spent the recent few days obsessed with this. (◠v◠)

Simply ... I wondered how this carbon structure looks in reality. The first attempt was not what I wanted, it's a 3 electrons bonding; but it's a sphere huh. Anyway I wanted the all 4 electrons bonding.

More puzzling ... At last, tada!

الحمد لله after building the foundation structure, I continue to add on around it. As it adds around, it spreads out upwards - quite like a skull cap. Of course like a true nerd I tried it on my head, ha ha.

Then I wanted the structure to be a sphere. This will not be a sphere, it keeps spreading out. Even if the pieces are smaller, I think it still spreads out with slower growth. So to make it narrow in, it ends up with a mix of 3,4-atoms-bonding. So walla, a sphere! Then somehow a beautiful thing happened, the models came together & became ... the flower. ماشاء الله

First of all, I'm not trained in graphic designing. I'm a computer science graduate majoring in computer graphics. What I did in uni was mostly serious programming. Like illumination and photo editing. Yes, we build the actual photo editor. I'm saying this bcoz, I once felt I had it hard building it.

Well, there's serious maths in mine. (T - T)

Moving on. I sure did not learn what colors matches with what. So, I dunno if I should talk about graphic designing. Although, that's my profession - twice. But since I'm not trained in graphic designing, I honestly do not know. All my graphic design so far have been by sheer instinct. It's up to whatever looks nice.

Still if you ask me, I think beauty can come in many forms. Bcoz art is abstract. Personally, I feel Einstein explained it well. It's "doing the same thing over and over again and expecting different results". As in, what you think is beautiful now can be ugly later (or to another), then you or he changed mind or whatever. It's Einstein's definition of insanity. (◠v◠)

All & all, in one of my final projects, I measured and scaled... I was reading Alhambra at that time, and came to know of the Golden Ratio. So. I was enlightened that it's mostly in the proportion & harmony. So...

Proportion & harmony. ووضع الميزان [Q55:7-8], وصوركم فأحسن صوركم [Q64:3]

That's what I think makes things beautiful. ماشاء الله

& the most intriguing part is... I recognize that design.
It's from the Alhambra

Have I told you Alhambra is haunting me. (◠v◠) Anyway short story shorter, I was simply browsing websites. & when I found this one, my mind went "ummm.. isn't that from the walls of the Alhambra?"

& yes it is! ماشاء الله

I'm mesmerized. My memory can remember that wall & its intricacies! الحمد لله Well honestly, maybe I remember this bcoz I also used an Alhambra wall for one of my designs too, ha ha. But I used the design below, and not the one above. It's a totally different design. Still, I'm happy I can identify where the design comes from. I feel like a forensic expert. (◠v◠)

BTW, the medieval Alhambra design isn't just beautiful. Its mosaic have also helped scientists understand what quasicrystals look like at the atomic level. & this discovery of quasicrystal had just won the Nobel in Chemistry 2011.

Well... I think one trait I'd love to have from Steve Jobs, is - improving things over & over. I read that recently of him, and it was deemed a brilliant trait. That is how Apple gets so iconic. الحمد لله

BTW, I first came to know the Apple brand since ~1992. I can't remember how it looks like, coz it was at my school lab. But I think I remember the rainbow apple logo. Now the logo is more glassy. & apparently, a much older one has Isaac Newton.
