The blue flame is the higher energy
Happy 200th birthday Robert Bunsen! I know Bunsen coz I have used a Bunsen burner. So I checked him out. & apparently Bunsen researched the emission spectra of heated elements. Is it about the colors of flame? Like how yellow flame is the lower energy, and blue flame is the higher energy ☆ Particle

I think that's how they determine a star. Simply by its color.

OK I have yet to work out how the color changes.* Is it at the atomic level - when stuffs get energized, the vibrations emit photon (light)? And so it glows. The light bulb is an example - a metal filament wire is heated until it glows.

Then we can run that light through a prism, & analyze its color spectrum. [spectral analysis] This is how we know what a star is made of bcoz chemical elements emit certain lines in the spectrum. We can also discover its temperature, speed, distance and age.

Layers of the Earth
OK. So let's get to know our home planet. The Earth. (^-^)

This third rock from the sun is made of several distinct layers:
1. The atmosphere (gas) - protects life on Earth
2. The crust - comprising the lands & oceans
3. The mantle (semi solid) - where the internal heat circulates
4. The core (liquid & solid) - iron, source of the magnetic field

OK. I simply wanna know why the earth quakes. So. If I understand it right - the Earth's crust is actually broken apart as plates و الأرض ذات الصدع [Q86:12] - which fits together like a jigsaw puzzle. Intense heat from the Earth’s core causes these plates to move. [wtu] And as it meet at cracks (fault lines), sometimes, things don't go smoothly & this releases energy - causing the ground to shake. والله أعلم


Warmer material rises, colder material falls
This plate movement is called plate tectonics. [web | video] It is due to the heating (rising) and cooling (falling) of the mantle from the hot core, known as convection. So is this movement like the water cycle?

NOTE soil contains water like clouds

And when 2 plates collide & uplifts vast land area - this forms mountains. These mountains reduces the earthquakes. "To relieve the stress, mountain ranges are often formed in the over riding land mass while earthquake prone zones are formed below" وألقى في الأرض رواسي أن تميد بكم [Q16:15]
