While I was in Mecca, I did walk around the shopping malls. Although I didn't shop much, but one thing strikes great interest in me. One mall's sign seems to imply they may have a Planetarium. \(◠v◠)/ I'd love to visit it. But, I didn't find it. Maybe they're building it? I don't know. But it'd be great! The Mecca Planetarium. Isn't it easier to have faith when you know you have your Commandments - like everything else in the universe. *sujud* ماشاء الله
Yes, everything in this universe is obedient to The Law. E.g.: the Earth complete its orbits around the sun every 12 months, the solar system completes its orbits around the Milky Way every 200-250 million years. Asteroids paths can be figured as it follows the Laws of Physics [video]. كل في فلك يسبحون [Q21:33], الشمس والقمر بحسبان [Q55:5] & like it or not, you won't be flying off to deep space thanks to gravity.
Yes, Arabs had been supporting space missions years ago
Even since ancient times, many star names used are in Arabic | Star List
For me, it's valuable to understand our existence in the universe. The Milky Way is one from over 100 BILLIONS galaxies that can be seen. [NASA] So, are there life like us in other galaxies? Or should we just ignore it all? We should know - why we live and exist. With space missions, we may even learn & understand the Holy Quran's truth, as to embrace life as muslims. For example:
بسم الله الرحمن الرحيم Then He (Allah) Istaw (rose over) towards the heaven when it was smoke, and said to it and to the earth: "Come both of you willingly or unwillingly." They both said: "We come, willingly." [Holy Quran 41:11]
ثم استوى إلى السماء وهي دخان فقال لها وللأرض ائتيا طوعا أو كرها قالتا أتينا طائعين
Smoke, as in dust & gas in a nebula which come together (tawaf) as a new galaxy?
There are many Holy Quran verses which can be understood by observing space | QA (*v*)
Research can also discover the fragilities of life on Earth. A series of mass extinctions have wiped out life on Earth since ages. Mass extinction wiped out the Permian Era. Then the Earth was resurrected with the Dinosaur Era, which then was wiped out by an asteroid impact. Then the Earth was resurrected again, with humans. After each mass extinctions, the Earth was resurrected with the next generation of species. يحيي الأرض بعد موتها [Q30:50], إن يشأ يذهبكم ويأت بخلق جديد [Q14:19]
Good luck, mankind. So, will we ever build an escape rocket? (◠v◠)
I seek refuge from Allah SWT from errors.

I can't believe Al-Waqi' can be totally vicious. Those meteorites slamming earth.
Oh yeah I remember now. I had wanted to attend that space lecture "We're Made Of Star Stuffs". But I didn't. I wonder if the talk is about the chemistry of our body & space.
Allah SWT encouraged studying the creations of the heavens & the earth. الحمد لله
Two asteroids will pass within the moon's distance from Earth on Wednesday, Sept. 8. [nasa]
It is rare for two to be spotted zooming in at the same time. OneIndia reported NASA discovered them on Sunday, Sep 5 by a telescope in Arizona.
That's just 3 days ago. On the night of 27th Ramadhan 1431?
Asteroid 2011 MD, a small asteroid the size of a tour bus, will make an extremely close pass by the Earth on Monday, June 27 1:14 p.m. EDT (1714 GMT). It will pass just over 12,000 km above the Earth's surface. [2011 MD] It was discovered Wednesday (June 22).
Dear LINEAR, that discovery is 4 days ago. & the asteroid's going to be here tomorrow.
Previously, 2011 CQ 1 passed within 5471 km of Earth on Friday, Feb 4 2:40 p.m. EST (1940 GMT). Just hours after it was discovered. [2011 CQ 1]
They say many asteroids are thought to zip close by Earth unnoticed every day. Small ones break apart in the atmosphere. It's the big ones that are potential threats.

8th Nov 2011: Asteroid YU55 zoomed harmlessly past Earth, slightly closer than the moon's orbit. The last time a space rock as big as an aircraft carrier came as close to Earth was in 1976. [nasa]
It is particularly interesting because it has a high carbon content - making it coal black. Such carbonaceous chondrites have been found to contain amino acids, and may have played a role in the origin of life on Earth.
Asteroid 2012 DA14, about half the size of a football field, is expected to hurtle past Earth closer than TV satellites just after Valentine's Day 2013. This is record setting.
"Since regular sky surveys began in the 1990s, we've never seen an object this big get so close to Earth." said Don Yeomans of NASA's Near Earth Object Program. A similar asteroid exploded in the atmosphere in Tunguska, Russia in 1908. Another similar sized asteroid made of iron did impact Arizona 50,000 years ago. [TheExaminer]
The closest approach will occur Friday afternoon, Eastern time, over Indonesia. [nasa] So. Is this is the elephant? ماشاء الله
No. The Russian meteor is. ماشاء الله Isn't it amazing how it suddenly appears. It is small & broke apart in the atmosphere... but it fell in a populated region, of all places the one with the dash cams.
"A meteor streaked through the skies above Russia's Urals region Friday morning before exploding with a flash and boom that shattered glass in buildings and left about 1,000 people hurt" [CNN | video]
"According to NASA, asteroid 2015 TB145 will be the biggest known asteroid to come near Earth until 2027. It was discovered just over a week ago, on October 10, from the Pan-STARRS I telescope in Hawaii. The Halloween asteroid’s closest approach will occur on 11:14 a.m. ET (15:14 UTC) on October 31, 2015... will pass Earth at 310,000 miles (498,896 km) or 1.3 times the Earth-moon distance... Preliminary estimates indicate asteroid 2015 TB145 is about 1,542 feet (470 meters) in diameter..." [EarthSky]
That's about 4 football fields, nearly as close as the moon (◠oo◠) سبحان الله
"2001 WN5 s a sub-kilometer asteroid, classified as near-Earth object and potentially hazardous asteroid ... will pass within 250,000 km (0.65 lunar distances) from the Earth on June 26, 2028" [Wiki | NASA . photo]
Is the asteroid's orbit counter clock wise? Bcoz if a similar asteroid coming from the East impacts Earth, will it change the Earth's rotation - and the Sun rises from the West?

Thank you for supporting space mission. May we can see there is a life far in the Heaven, more grand than we can ever imagine. & hope for it, before our time on this Earth end.
