OK ... Imagine you're traveling through the desert, sea. In the 7th century. Your navigator is up in the sky - the stars! So yeah, the stars are guidance. وعلامات وبالنجم هم يهتدون [Q16:16] النجوم لتهتدوا بها في ظلمات البر والبحر [Q6:97] & understanding it is a very ancient skill. الحمد لله

Basically, it starts with the Earth orbiting the sun. This means each night of the year, the Earth is in a different position around the Sun. Thus, we get to see a different view of the night sky from that position. E.g: around January, the night faces Orion (so you see it), but the day faces Aquila (so it's hard to see). Then when the Earth moves across the other side around July, you see Aquila clearly.

The Earth also spins on its axis, so the night sky view changes from sunset to sunrise as well. Say in July, Scorpio rules the night sky — it rises in the East at sunset, moves across the sky all night, & sets in the West at sunrise. الجوار الكنس [Q81:16]

after July's sunset, will we see Leo descend in the West

before July's sunrise, will we see Aquarius rise in the East

will Scorpio descend in the West at sunset until it disappears

This cycle repeats every year — so is this how the ancients tell time & seasons? For instance, Canopus (Suhail سهيل) appears in August, perhaps before sunrise in the East, and rises to its peak in December, January. It is welcomed by Arabs as it marks the coming of winter, with cooler temperatures.

We can also find direction by looking at the constellations. For instance, we can find the North by looking from Altair to Vega in the summer, while Orion's arrow points us to the West in the winter. This is how muslims can find the Kaaba for the daily prayers. الحمد لله

The map shows the constellations of the night sky, for the whole year. The actual night sky view is spherical, so should the map wrap around the earth? So maybe the northern, southern stars span more months? FYI, there are southern stars too low to be seen from the northern hemisphere (maybe Berlin never see Canopus), and vice versa ...

BTW, the lego is how they plan to build the tallest buiding in 90 days. [ref] Yeah, totally! Why don't construction companies do that. Share lego block parts of a home ready to install or remove. It'll be like the IKEA of the construction industry, isn't it? Hmm...

The Trails of Prophet Abraham and the Israelite

1	Prophet Abraham ﷺ [QA] left his homeland Ur and settled in Hebron. [Q21:71 | map] Blessed as the Father of the Prophets, فقد آتينا آل إبراهيم الكتاب والحكمة [Q4:54 | lineage] his sons: Prophet Ishmael ﷺ [QA] from his wife Hajar fathered the Ishmaelite Prophet Isaac ﷺ [QA] from his wife Sarah fathered the Israelite
2	By Allah's SWT command, Prophet Abraham left his wife Hajar & baby son Prophet Ishmael in Mecca. But he still visited them. It was Prophet Abraham & Prophet Ishmael who built the Kaaba — it is the first House of worship for Allah SWT. إن أول بيت وضع للناس للذي ببكة [Q3:96-97]
3	Prophet Isaac inherited the legacy of Prophet Abraham. He fathered Prophet Jacob ﷺ. [QA] & Prophet Jacob (or known as Israel), fathered the 12 sons of Israel. But due to sibling envy, one of his sons, Prophet Joseph ﷺ [QA] was cast away. At a tender age, Prophet Joseph became a slave boy in Egypt, but he rose to high rank as a royal trustee. Then, a famine brought the brothers to seek aid in Egypt, & the family were reunited. Prophet Joseph welcomed his family into Egypt.
4	קרן עור פניו בדברו אתו [Exodus 34:29] קרן is misbah (مصباح : light) قدس קודש : holy * But after generations passed, an evil Pharaoh ruled, he persecuted the Israelite. Allah SWT sent Prophet Moses ﷺ [QA] & Prophet Aaron ﷺ to invite the Pharaoh to the truth, as well as to deliver the Israelite. Finally, they exodus out of Egypt to the Sinai. The persecutions were a great trial, & they were blessed to receive the Covenant from Allah SWT at the Sinai [QA]. ولقد أخذ الله ميثاق بني إسرائيل [Q5:12], ولقد آتينا بني إسرائيل الكتاب والحكم والنبوة [Q45:16] بسم الله الرحمن الرحيم وأورثنا القوم الذين كانوا يستضعفون مشارق الأرض ومغاربها التي باركنا فيها ... وتمت كلمة ربك الحسنى على بني إسرائيل بما صبرواAnd We caused the people who had been oppressed to inherit the eastern regions of the land and the western ones, which We had blessed. And the good word of your Lord was fulfilled for the Children of Israel, because of what they had patiently endured ... [Partial Holy Quran 7:137] ونريد أن نمن على الذين استضعفوا في الأرض ونجعلهم أئمة ونجعلهم الوارثينAnd We wanted to confer favor upon those who were oppressed in the land and make them leaders and make them inheritors. [Holy Quran 28:5] ولقد اخترناهم على علم على العالمينAnd We certainly chose them by knowledge over the worlds [Holy Quran 44:32] ... צפנה ונגבה וקדמה וימה ... לך אתננה ולזרעך ... זרעך כעפר הארץ ... ... north and south and east and west ... give it to you and to your descendants ... your descendants as the dust of the Earth ... [Partial Genesis 13:14-18] ונברכו בך כל משפחת האדמה ובזרעך ... ... and in you and in your descendants shall all the families of the Earth be blessed [Partial Genesis 28:13-14]
5	The Israelite reached the Promised Land الأرض المقدسة التي كتب الله لكم [Q5:21]. * But some refused to enter it with Prophet Moses, so they were forbidden from it — they wandered in desert for 40 years. ושמה לא תעבר [Deuteronomy 34:4 | QA] فهزموهم بإذن الله وقتل داود جالوت وآتاه الله الملك والحكمة وعلمه مما يشاء ولولا دفع الله الناس بعضهم ببعض لفصدت الأرض ولكن الله ذو فضل على العالمين [Q2:251] Then, the Israelite were driven out from their homes, so they asked for a king to lead them in the face of war. Allah SWT chose Saul [QA] as the first king of Israelite — led by Saul, they defeated Goliath (Philistine). ויחזק דוד מן הפלשתי [1 Samuel 17:50] Then, Allah SWT blessed Prophet David ﷺ [QA] as king. When his son Prophet Solomon ﷺ [QA] inherited him, Allah SWT blessed his kingdom with so much magnificence, it is known as the kingdom like no other. ملكا لا ينبغي لأحد [Q38:35] Prophet Solomon built the First Temple of Jerusalem. לבבכם שלם [1 Kings 8 | Deuteronomy 11] ماشاء الله
6	אנכי מצוה והנעותי בכל הגוים ... ... את בית ישראל כאשר ינוע בכברה... I will command and shake the House of Israel among all the nations as if shaken in a sieve ... [Amos 9:9] ... בקרב עמים רבים כטל ...... in the midst of many nations as dew ... [Micah 5:7] ... وقطعناهم في الأرض أمماAnd We divided them throughout the earth into nations ... [Q7:168] فإذا جاء وعد الآخرة ... جئنا بكم لفيفا... when the final and the last promise comes near, We shall bring you altogether as mixed crowd. [Q17:104] But after Prophet Solomon passed away, the Israelite broke the Covenant. כאשר הרעו מעלליהם בנה ציון בדמים וירושלם בעולה [Micah 3] ולא ויעברו את בריתו [2 Kings 18:12] ונתתי פני בכם ונגפתם [Leviticus 26:14-17] The Land divided into Israel (10 tribes e.g Samaritans) & Judah (Jews). Then Israel fell to the Assyrians, while Judah fell to the Babylons. The Babylons destroyed the First Temple of Jerusalem and the Ark of Covenant was lost — they were exiled across the world. فإذا جاء وعد أولاهما بعثنا عليكم عبادا لنا أولي بأس شديد فجاسوا خلال الديار وكان وعدا مفعولا [Q17:5] This event is grieved upon on Tisha B'Av תשעה באב.

Still, a group called Samaritans survived & remained in the region.

Then, from the East, came Cyrus the Great of Persia who allowed the Jews to return from exile & the Second Temple of Jerusalem was rebuilt. אנכי העירתהו בצדק וכל דרכיו אישר הוא יבנה עירי וגלותי ישלח [Isaiah 45:13] Then from the West, came Alexander the Great and Greek culture spread across the region. Some Jews became Hellenized, even the Old Testament was translated into Greek (Septuagint). ^REF

העלמה הרה וילדת בן וקראת שמו עמנו אל [Isaiah 7:14]

Iman (إيمان : faith) is aman (آمن : peace)

When the Romans ruled, this era saw Herod commissioning the Second Temple's grand expansion. This was the Temple Prophet Jesus ﷺ [QA] came to — along with Prophet Zachariah ﷺ [QA] and Prophet John ﷺ [QA], as well as his mother the Virgin Mary. [QA]

Some believed in Prophet Jesus, some didn't. So they divided again — into Jews & Christians. Then, the Romans destroyed the Second Temple & exiled them. Again, they grieved for the Temple's destruction. فإذا جاء وعد الآخرة ليسوءوا وجوهكم وليدخلوا المسجد كما دخلوه أول مرة وليتبروا ما علوا تتبيرا [Q17:4-7 | QA]

& till this day, they pray for the Third Temple.
