ثم خلقنا النطفة علقة فخلقنا العلقة مضغة

ثم أنشأناه خلقا آخر فتبارك الله أحسن الخالقين

Then We placed him as a sperm-drop in a firm lodging. Then We made the sperm-drop into a clinging clot, and We made the clot into a lump (of flesh), and We made (from) the lump, bones, and We covered the bones with flesh; then We developed him into another creation. ... sperm-drop for 40 days, then becomes a clot for a similar period, then becomes a flesh for a similar period. Then Allah sends to him the angel, who blows into him the spirit ...

The left part shows the male sperm (نطفة). يخرج من بين الصلب والترائب he emerges from between the backbone and the ribs [Q86:5-7] When it meets the female egg, ¹ DNA inside both nucleus fused. Then cells start to divide and becomes a clot (علقة). Then the clot becomes a flesh with blood (مضغة) and heart starts beating. Then bones form, which seems like the spine. Then it is covered with more flesh, until it becomes a fetus (أجنة).

And please note the coccyx (عجب الذنب לוז). It is close to the navel where the embryo gets its nourishment through the umbilical cord. So does the spine grow from there like a root, while the brain blossoms with light like a flower ³ منه يركب الخلق يوم القيامة from it the body will be recreated on the Day of Resurrection [SB6.60.457 | REF]

PLACENTAL DEVELOPMENT

إن الله وكل في الرحم ملكا فيقول يا رب نطفة يا رب علقة يا رب مضغة فإذا أراد أن يخلقــها قال يا رب أذكر أم أنثى؟ يا رب شقي أم سعيد؟ فما الرزق؟ فما الأجل؟ فيكتب كذلك في بطن أمــه Verily Allah has appointed in the womb an angel. So the angel says, "O Lord, a sperm-drop. O Lord, a clot. O Lord, a flesh." Then when Allah wishes to complete her creation, the angel says, "O Lord, a male or female? O Lord, unhappy or happy? What is the livelihood? What is the duration (age)?" So the angel writes all these in the womb of his mother. [SB4.55.550]

So the umbilical cord nourish the blastocyst. Blood flows and the embryo's heart starts beating. Then the spine grows from the posterior (coccyx), while the brain grows from the anterior. When the spirit is blown, the brain blossoms with light ☆ आज्ञा ajna أجنة fetus [Q53:32] REF REF REF

When the time comes, the heart stops beating and blood stagnates. As oxygen depletes the energy leaves (سكرة الموت), so will glucose (سكر) remain in cells. And the last to go is the vision ☆ فذلك حين يتبع بصره نفسه it is when his eyesight follows his breath ? If on life support is it like embryo, the heart beats but without spirit
